Objective

Develop confident touch using the sole of the foot to pull the ball back and redirect.

Equipment

  • ball

Instructions

  1. 1

    Stand with the ball under your foot.

  2. 2

    Pull the ball back with the sole, then push it forward and to the side with the inside of the same foot — tracing a V shape.

  3. 3

    Do 20 reps with the right foot, then 20 with the left.

  4. 4

    Progress to alternating feet each rep.

Coaching Points

  • Eyes up — feel the ball, don't look down.
  • Keep the ball close; small controlled touches.
  • Increase speed only once the pattern is clean.

Call it the "letter V" — trace a V on the ground with the ball.

Variations

  • Combine with inside-outside touches in a 30-second ball mastery circuit.
