Objective

Improve first-touch softness and overall feel for the ball through juggling.

Equipment

  • Ball

Instructions

  1. 1

    Start by dropping the ball onto your dominant foot and catching it after one touch. Build up to continuous juggles.

  2. 2

    Aim for 10 consecutive juggles with the dominant foot, then 10 with the non-dominant.

  3. 3

    Progress to alternating feet, adding thighs and headers.

  4. 4

    Set a personal record each session and try to beat it.

Coaching Points

  • Keep the foot relaxed — a rigid foot sends the ball flying; a soft foot keeps it close.
  • Strike the centre of the ball for a straight upward trajectory.
  • Bend your knees slightly to stay balanced and ready.

Age Notes

U8

Allow the ball to bounce once between each touch — full juggling is a long-term goal.

Variations

  • Juggle while walking forward 10 yards.
  • Challenge a partner: first to 50 juggles wins.
