Header Finish

Objective

Attack crosses with an accurate, downward header toward goal.

Equipment

• Balls
• Goal

Instructions

1. 1

   Server stands wide at the edge of the penalty area and delivers lofted crosses.

2. 2

   Striker times a run from the penalty spot to meet the ball at the near or back post.

3. 3

   Head the ball downward — aim for the bottom corners.

4. 4

   5 crosses from each side; striker and server rotate.

Coaching Points

• ✓ Attack the ball — do not wait for it to come to you.
• ✓ Strike through the top half of the ball with the forehead to direct it down.
• ✓ Eyes open until contact; do not flinch.

Variations

• → Add a goalkeeper to create a realistic heading duel.
• → Serve from a corner position to simulate set-piece finishing.
