Objective

Execute a bent, in-swinging cross-field pass that lands on the far side of a wide zone.

Equipment

  • balls
  • cones

Instructions

  1. 1

Partners stand 35–40 yards apart in a wide position on opposite sides of the pitch.

  2. 2

Player A strikes across the body with the instep, curling the ball to land in a 3-yard target zone near Player B.

  3. 3

    Player B controls and repeats.

  4. 4

Focus on bending the ball away from an imaginary covering defender.

  5. 5

10 passes each then swap sides.

Coaching Points

  • Strike through the bottom half of the ball to get flight and bend.
  • Follow-through across the body — that's what creates the bend.
  • Aim for the far foot of the receiver so they can take it into space.

Variations

  • Move target zone to add a curve that beats a marker cone placed mid-flight.
